Our Story

The owner/operator of NWO Sound was a former audio technician in the Toronto area working for a large sound and lighting company, and provided sound for many of Canada's top bands as an audio systems tech, monitor engineer, and front-of-house engineer. When not working at festivals or on the road, they completed installations and responded to service calls. Back in the shop, they were responsible for speaker testing and repairs and assisted the company's electronics engineer with testing, maintaining and repairing professional audio equipment. After leaving the audio industry, a new career brought the family to Northwestern Ontario. Despite the career change, a passion remained for all things sound-related, and they began volunteering their audio expertise to help various educational, religious and entertainment groups here in the north. As their second career now winds down, and with encouragement from family, investments were made into purchasing equipment and NWO Sound was formed.
